| Inducted October 7, 1989 | ||
Only the second woman to be inducted into the College's Athletic
Hall of Fame, Horan was SMCs premier multi-sport female athlete
before the arrival of Hall of Fame member Kathy O'Neil. She was a
standout on the basketball court when the varsity program was just
beginning, and in her year of induction still holds two individual
records: most rebounds in a game (25), and best rebounds per game
average for a season (14.5). She was team captain in both her
junior and senior years, and was named team MVP as a freshman and
sophomore. She was also a two-time captain of the softball team,
and was named MVP of that program following her senior season. At
the time of her induction, she still holds the record for home runs
in a season with six in 1978. A talented field hockey player as
well, she was the recipient of the 'Doc' Jacobs Award at the 1978
SMC Block "M" Dinner.
