Without question the deadliest shooter in Purple Knight history.
Despite a freshman season in which he collected just six points and
four rebounds, Tom culminated his great career with an All-American
Second Team selection by the NABC. He was also a two-time All-New
England and All-East selection, and was Vermont's Athlete of the
Month in December, 1978. In his senior season of 1978-79, Tom was
ranked among the nation's top 10 Division II players in scoring,
rebounding, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage. His
24.1 points per game average was second-best in New England
Division II that year. He finished his career with 1,317 career
points, and at his time of induction, still held two college
records. Following his graduation in 1979, Tom went on to play
three years of professional basketball in Europe and South America.
