Robert Hoehl
Class of 1963
Basketball
Inducted September 18, 2009

Bob was a three-year starter for the Purple Knights men's basketball team, and averaged a team-high 12.2 points per game as a sophomore. As well known as he was during his college days, his true rise to fame came after graduation, when he eventually became one of Vermont's most valuable business leaders and philanthropists. He and Hall of Famer Rich Tarrant '65 co-founded IDX Systems Corporation, a remarkably-successful healthcare software company. Hoehl and his wife, Cynthia, have been very generous in sharing their success with the greater Burlington community, assisting time and again with influential gifts and support that betters the lives of others. A list of the organizations they have helped and projects they have made possible includes: the Hoehl Community Health Center (with an income-sensitive sliding scale) and the Hoehl Wing of the McClure Multigenerational Center in Burlington's North End, the Burlington Community Land Trust, the Good News Garage, the Preservation Trust of Vermont, the Burlington Boys and Girls Club, the ECHO Lake Champlain Basin Science Center, the Baird Center, COTS, the Stern Center, the King Street Youth Center, and the community's institutions of higher learning.
