Jeff was a four-year standout for the Purple Knight swim team in
the early years of the program's varsity status. He was a
three-time team captain, and qualified for the New England
Intercollegiate Swimming Association Championships all four
years. In 1979, he became the first Purple Knight men's
swimmer to ever score points at the New England
Championships. His impact on the SMC swim team can be seen in
the dramatic improvement in the program's record. In his
freshman year, the Knights were 3-7, but as a senior, he led his
team to a 6-3 mark. The two winning seasons in his final two
years were the first winning records ever posted in the program's
varsity history. At the time of his graduation, Jeff held
five SMC swimming records -- and his 400 meter individual medley
mark still stands at his induction! Jeff also ran
cross-country in his senior year -- the same year he received the
prestigious Roger Keleher Award.
